Dale striker Devante Rodney takes on Liam Hogan
Rochdale came back from conceding an early goal to take a point against Oldham; having conceded in the sixth minute, Rochdale equalised in the 27th minute.
Early Oldham pressure quickly paid off when James Norwood intercepted a pass in midfield and with the ball falling to Josh Lundstram he drove forward before passing to Hallam Hope who hit a powerful shot past Dale goalkeeper Jacob Chapman high into the roof of the net.
Rochdale equalised from a corner which was hit low to the near post where Manchester United loanee Sam Mather got a touch that went past goalkeeper Mathew Hudson.
Oldham came the closest to winning the game when Andrew Dallas cut in from the edge of the penalty area and curled a shot towards the far corner which came back off the post.
Rochdale did have a late opportunity to take all three points when Ryan East put Kairo Mitchell through and with just goalkeeper Hudson to beat Mitchell attempted to take the ball around the keeper but in doing so was forced wide and his attempt from the tight angle was parried by Hudson.
